Easter is right around the corner and we are certainly spoiled with our mild weather in Southern California. As the days grow longer, the air is filled with the sweet scent of florals, the echoing laughter of children and let’s not forget the stunning Southern California sunsets. These simple blessings are continual reminders that springtime is here once again, and it’s a perfect time for those spring family portraits.
The beauty of lifestyle photography is that it captures your life as it unfolds. Your life consists of genuine moments that showcase and preserve feelings, history, personality as well as a more in-depth look into your lives through photographic moments. I love being able to witness and document these twinkling’s of time for you. Moments that otherwise would only live for an instant now, can be preserved and enjoyed for generations to come. These organically candid moments, when combined together, become your life story.
Belmont Shore has some wonderful offerings in the springtime. The Colorado Lagoon is just around the corner from our photography studio, and offers a calm serenity while feeding birds on an old wooden dock. If you are on the go and want a fresh and hip vibe, Second Street offers diverse complements for any style preference. Mothers Beach by the Naples Canal has some peaceful glistening waters for little ones, and lets not forget the various scenic park areas that surround Long Beach in general.
Although our studio is based in Belmont Shore, we offer services to neighboring cities like Huntington Beach, Seal Beach, Los Angeles and throughout California. We would love to hear where your adventures take place, so please inquire for our travel schedule, as we are also available for out of state and international commissioned portraits.
The list of fun local areas can be endless. Here are a few more I have found, that my little friends especially enjoy, which are also great for portraits, engagements and family sessions in Long Beach:
• El Dorado Nature Center
• Livingston Park
• The Pike
• Shoreline Village
• Blair Field
We know that your family is important, and photographing them ANY time of the year is wonderful, but there is something especially magnificent about the month of April. With every breathtaking bloom we are reminded of how fascinating and precious new life really is. Little buds popping up everywhere create a sense of awe within us.
These patches of color and fresh green leaves make for a stunning backdrop for a photography session. This is just part of the reason why I absolutely LOVE springtime family portrait sessions! There are so many different outdoor activities that compliment the picturesque beauty around us whether you are a pair of lovebirds or a growing family. Here are just a few of my favorite springtime activities to photograph:
• Planting flowers, veggies and herbs
• Making flower necklaces
• Playing in the park
• Picnics
• Outdoor date night
• Water play
• Building sand castles
• Walks on the beach
• Hunting for seashells
• Kayaking and Paddle Boarding
